The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, received this morning at the Palace Hall, the visit of Colonel General Director of the Air Academy and Chief of the Air Base in San Javier, Juan Antonio Ortega Vazquez, in a meeting, formal character , held on the occasion of the inauguration of the director, last September.
Throughout his career, Juan Antonio Ortega has been awarded the Knights Cross of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo, two of Aeronautical Merit Cross, Cross of Naval Merit, Honorable Mention and a NATO Medal.
In his military career has also been hallmarks of Merit for Peacekeeping Operations, the Standing Faculty and Schools Schools and Permanence in the ADEM.
In recent years he has served on the School of reactors, the Air Staff in the European Air Group and the General Air Academy, which since 2006 has served as director of studies.
