Deputy Mayor, Agustín Guillén, and the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, have held this morning a meeting with Víctor Beltrí Commission, headed by its president, Juan Ignacio Ferrández, to outline a series of actions in the face of commemoration, in 2012 , the 150 anniversary of the birth of the modernist architect who has left nearly 50 works in the old city.
The main objective is to organize a major exhibition in the style of which was done with another character of cultural interest such as Carmen Conde Cartagena, on the life and work of Victor Beltrí, with more than 800 projects behind it, though born in Tortosa, left much of his work with us.
Rosario Montero has ensured that support this initiative, with the Palace Hall as part of the exhibition of Beltrí, an idea proposed to the Commission at previous meetings and that although it was Cartagena, developed a very important job in our city.
In this sense, we are maintaining contacts with local councils of municipalities that also have an important work of Victor Beltrí as Tortosa, Castellon, Gandia and La Union, for making this traveling exhibition, as did also that of Carmen Conde.
For his part, President Victor Beltrí Commission was pleased with the work of the City Council for the conservation of heritage through the facade, because it allowed the recovery of the exterior of many buildings.
Now there will also work to recover interior, something of interest to both tourists and citizens.
