The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, has announced that the Department of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea (Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine), has awarded the contract management practices and environmental restoration of the strip coast between the grandchildren and smaller islands in the area known as Cow Tongue, in Cartagena.
The works have been awarded to the company Construcciones SA Alpi 360,915.90 euros and have a lead time of five months.
This project, included in Plan E and which will create 10 jobs, is the recovery and environmental restoration of a unique scenic location that offers a privileged view of the Mar Menor.
This project covers a total area of 81,100 meters square.
In addition, to improve communication between Los Nietos and smaller islands, will be built to facilitate pedestrian traffic and includes a step on the boulevard of Carrasquilla.
The planned measures include the construction of a bike lane, a teaching area, a wooden walkway and a plaza, "creating spaces that combine environmental friendliness with the uses of leisure and rest of the population."
Restaurant area: It occupies the northern half from the esplanade to the town of Los Nietos and the southern half, took the entire band stretching from the sea to the teaching area.

These actions are part of the investments of the Plan E (Spanish for the Stimulus Plan for Economy and Employment) of the Government, working with the regions and municipalities in the affected areas and making the necessary interventions to improve the range coast, while respecting the environmental and landscape characteristics of each area and facilitate the use and enjoyment of the coast to all citizens.
