The City of Cartagena, through the departments of Social Care and Education, has launched a magazine called Health Education and Prevention of Drug Addiction in schools, which contains all the activities carried out during 2009/2010, addressed to the members of the educational community, made up of teachers, students and AMPA.
The previous year demanded materials and activities from 43 primary schools and secondary schools in the municipality, representing 51% of the total, said the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, the presentation of the journal in which he was accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto.
The council went on to explain a total of 362 teachers were involved in activities on health education and drug prevention, with the participation of 8,555 students.
Among the primary activities, highlight the programs in the garden with my friends and the adventure of life, guiding students and teachers on how to prevent drug use.
In high school, conducted briefings on certain topics of health and leisure, the snuff, among others, accompanied by tutorials and training materials.
Also, workshops are held, to promote healthy drinks or workshop on communication and healthy leisure.
In addition, it also has room for the AMPA, through lectures, symposia, which proposed ways to help children cope with alcohol, drugs, among other topics.
Notably, the publication of curriculum books, cd, video, games and handouts that are distributed in schools.
The Councillor for Education highlighted the important work of the City Council that works with the educational community, with great success participacoón, both teachers, students and parents.
