The jury of Documentary Photography Competition III Carlos Gallego, decided unanimously last Friday and after the viewing and discussion of papers presented by a score of photographers, award the prize, considering that none of the books reached outstanding quality.
The allocation of this prize amounts to 4,000 euros.
The jury was composed by Dolores Galindo, representing the City of Cartagena, Isabel Belinzón, widow of Carlos Gallego and art historian, Antonio Lopez, Photographer, Fernando Vázquez Casillas, Photostory and Director of CEHIFORM and José M ª Rodríguez, Photographer.
The works entered for the competition will be screened on November 6 at the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso, coinciding with the annual exhibition of photojournalism Murcia and an exhibition that includes work by the young graphic documentary Cartagena Javier Rapallo, on a trip Romania, selected by the CEHIFORM to star in the project area Momentary.
The Documentary Photography Contest Carlos Gallego he convenes the Association of Graphic Reporters and TV News from the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Culture Department of the City of Cartagena and the Historical Center of Photography in the Region of Murcia (CEHIFORM) in memory of the loved and admired photographer.
Its aim is to reward those pictures that express particular sensitivity and skill with an event or situation of the reality around us.
