Nine illegal immigrants who were in a boat have been rescued in the early afternoon today for a passenger ship and then driven to the port of Cartagena by a coastguard vessel.
The presence of that small boat, 16 nautical miles from Cartagena (over 29'6 kilometers), was reported by radio that vessel, whose crew proceeded to board the nine people aboard it, while just be aware of the fact Salvage moved there at the "Save me Mimosa."
Once the boat arrived at the place where the passenger ship, took charge of the new immigrants, proceeding then to transfer to the port of Cartagena, where they arrived at 16 am today, escorted by a patrol of Service Maritime Civil Guard, two of whose officers were onboard the "Mimosa".
The nine immigrants, all male adults, of Algerian nationality and in apparent good health, were released to the National Police, which instructs the relevant records back to their country of origin.
The small boat was about 5 feet long and was equipped with an outboard motor 25/30 hp.
