On Saturday September 26th took place the 3rd regional campaign Clean Up the World 2009, organized by Department of Sustainable Development and Agenda Implica2 of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena.
The aim of this campaign, promoted by the Environmental Volunteer Program Natural areas in the Region of Murcia, was to raise awareness among citizens in favor of a healthier environment and a society more committed to environmental conservation.
Several Implica2 UNV volunteers handed out at the Plaza Juan XXIII, 1,500 seedlings of different species indigenous to the region, such as Aleppo pine, pine, palm, carob, strawberry and Kermes oak, all from the Forest Nurseries of the Autonomous Community .
This campaign was well received by Cartagena and tourists strolling through the old town and collected the plant, accompanied by a manual for proper planting in place that everyone wants.
