The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, has this morning signed the agreements of collaboration between the Municipal Institute of Social and Senior clubs in our town, and the federation of institutions and associations of this group.
In this act, has been accompanied by the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderón Rodríguez, the director of Caja Murcia area, and the director of the Municipal Institute of Social Services, Antonio Mula Cruz.
Municipal aid were delivered to over 43 clubs, three more than last year, when he joined the Los Belones.

The mayor pointed out we are in times of crisis and are forced to cut spending and tighten our belts, but we know that this money is a major social investment and care for older clubs is part of our obligations.
Therefore, the allocation of this year grew at 27,360 euros and amounts to a total of 203,000 euros.
With this amount, the Municipal Institute of Social Services intends to collaborate, both in maintaining the premises of the Club for items such as rent, electricity, water, cleaning ... and in the realization of socio-cultural activities: workshops, field trips, lectures, festivals, etc..
This year we have earmarked 3 million euros in programs for the elderly, working from the council to use that money in more effective and necessary targets.
We have been fortunate to have the support and understanding of the associations to cut spending on activities less necessary and therefore we can work better aid is most needed, such as home care programs or remote assistance, said the mayor.
The Municipal Institute also participates in activities aimed at strengthening the partnership and promote cultural promotion of this group, such as: gerontogimnasia, workshops, cultural weeks, carnival, coexistence between clubs, courses, cultural visits, among others.
All these actions, as well as others aimed at older people, are part of a comprehensive program conducted by different professionals, who have a direct follow-up with each of the clubs by providing technical advice and support in developing their activities in the functioning of the association and the management of grants to other entities.
In addition, the bank Caja Murcia has given each one of these clubs to support activities regulated through a collaboration agreement of that body with the city of Cartagena.
