Over the past week were held at the School of Telecommunications Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena two relevant events.
First, the Project Monitoring Conference of the National Plan of Services Technologies for the Information Society (IST).
The aim of this conference was to track the projects funded by the National R + D + I and promote the dissemination of results to various strategic sectors.
The Workshop has presented all the projects funded by the ministry in the field of services for the Information Society.
Consequently, the range of Spanish universities have participated is very wide, highlighting the University of Madrid, Catalonia and Valencia, Vigo, Oviedo, Malaga, Alcala, Islas Baleares, Rovira i Virgili, Santiago de Compostela and the Carlos III Madrid.
In fact, many more universities involved as many of the projects evaluated are of coordinated, ie teams made up of 2 or more research teams from different Spanish universities.
Projects will be evaluated by a scientific committee composed of one member of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, and three researchers from prestigious universities selected from different Spanish-experts.
Fortunately, all projects have achieved the research objectives were proposed and as result have exceeded the court's assessment.
These seminars are part of the VIII Conference on Telematics Engineering (JITEL 2009), science and technology conference this year was held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena on 15, 16 and 17 September.
In fact, many of the researchers responsible for the projects evaluated in the Days of Monitoring are also authors of scientific articles are presented in JITEL.
These conferences provide a forum conducive to meeting, debate and dissemination for Spanish groups are teaching or research on topics related to networks and online services.
With the organization of this event is to promote both the exchange of experiences and outcomes such as communication and cooperation between the Spanish research groups working on issues related to telematics.
Among the issues of concern have been addressed in the papers, it should be noted mobile communications, wireless networks, multimedia communications, Internet security and telematic services.
For the organizers of the conference, "the different paths open submissions to the future in very different ways: health, urban development, commerce and leisure, among others."
