Note from UPyD:
Last April UPyD Cartagena requested that the owner of the Salinas de Marchamalo returned to the Ministry of Agriculture subsidies that had been granted from 2004 to 2007 for maintenance of the extraction of salt, which amounted to 135,000 Euros.
UPyD The requirement was based on breach of contract of the owner that revealed that in the intervening years there had been no salt extraction, resulting in a breach of contract clauses that literally provided "as priority actions to perform by the owners for their own means and with financial assistance of government: the maintenance of mining activity and infrastructure salt, and the recruitment of staff for monitoring and maintenance of the salt and protection of natural values associated " .
Now the Ministry has reported that only going to demand the return of 10% of the grants (13,500 Euros), saying that salt is not removed, but have kept the Salinas, where termination of the extraction of salt in a salt leads to the inevitable degradation of them.
UPyD believes that public subsidies should be scrupulous in its award and the subsequent fulfillment of the conditions, so the Autonomous Community is to require owners of Salt Marchamalo the full return of the 135,000 Euros granted.
