Between 7 and September 25 will be two of the most veteran of the Universidad del Mar: This is Scientific Diving courses and Art and Science of Navigation, both held in Cartagena.
Antonio Contreras Fernandez and Maria del Carmen Gonzalez Castillo were the directors of the Scientific Diver course, which, with 26 editions, is the oldest activity of the Universidad Internacional del Mar. It aims to introduce students to diving, enabling them to dive up to 30 meters deep.
The course includes both theoretical and practical aspects, including such topics as applied to diving physiology, first aid, rescue and retrieval theory, physics applied to diving decompression theory.
It also includes activities such as scuba diving in the pool, open tanks and sea, dived deeper gradually to reach 30 meters.
Students may undertake visits to several Navy ships and submarines Base
This year is the seventeenth edition of the course of Art and Science of Navigation, also directed by Antonio Contreras and María Carmen González, who tries to explain to students the theoretical and practical aspects of navigation, enabling them at the same time for pleasure craft skipper.
Both courses have a duration of 120 hours, and learning in students who are entitled to a total of 4.5 elective credits.
