Of the 1,070 applications filed in the allocation of positions of municipal nursery schools for the 2009-2010 academic year, 749 have been admitted, representing 70%.
Of these, 285 are renewed and 464 new hires.
Waiting list are 321 children, compared with 200 of last year, representing 30% of total applications and an increase of almost 50% in the number of children not square, in relation to last year.
This contrasts with the closure of the nursery of Lo Campano, which should have been offered places to children who are on the waiting list whose parents, perhaps, have accepted their schooling assuming even transportation.
It also draws attention to a waiting list so bloated, the center polygon Beaza Cabezo, privately managed loan from the City Hall will not open their doors for lack of applications.
Cartagena UPyD considers that it should increase the supply of seats by extension of existing nursery schools or building new schools, provided under a public management model.
In UPyD defend quality public school as a tool for equal rights and a sufficient supply of places.
We consider especially important to cover the 0-3 year period, because in addition to the educational objectives, makes it possible to reconcile work and family life and the principle of equal rights for working mothers or those who are unemployed looking for a employment.
