A walking survey of consultation carried out during the first fortnight of August in the five health centers in the area have yielded important data on the real needs facing the health system in the area despite having made significant improvements Over the past two years thanks to investment from the Primary Care Management and the Municipality of San Javier.
Through nearly 400 surveys, the Socialists have found that the lack of an Emergency Department of Primary Care (PCES) dual medical team 24 hours a day at Centro Costa Calida, motivated delays in doctors displaced because they have to be these doctors who are forced to attend emergencies attending the health center and even emergency domiciliary, with the consequent delay in the scheduled visits.
As stated by Salvador Martinez, spokesman of the Socialists in the area, "a large percentage of claims that arise in the health center are produced in connection with household emergencies that must be addressed by physicians who are at that moment going consultation and this shows a lack of staff and produces a very negative image for many users increasingly central Costa Calida, mostly tourists and seniors. "
The survey notes a lack of adequate publicity about the 5 health centers operating in the area to provide all citizens the location, opening hours and services provided in order to optimize health resources while prevents the overcrowding of some over others unnecessarily, as is happening today.
The Socialists have also reported that children between 2 and 14 do not have any pediatric specialty care in health centers, with the risk in case of urgency and obligation shuttle del Rosell Hospital.
For Martinez, "The Primary Care Management can not forget that we are in high incidence area of tourism and the service provided by these health centers is an important part of the image that occurs in La Manga to our visitors, Spanish and foreign."
