The Internet portal of the City of Cartagena has grown by 8 points and a total of 90 out of 100, has achieved outstanding rating in the Transparency International has produced the second consecutive year to assess the level of transparency that municipal governments.
The score of the municipal website stands 26 points above the average of the 110 municipalities whose Internet portals have been studied by the NGO.
By area, the score of the web of Cartagena is the second in terms of information about the Corporation and in the area of transparency in planning and public works (94.1 points).
The score given to the municipal website is also the third in the areas of economic and financial transparency (89.5), the relationship with society (90) and transparency in the area of recruitment (71.4).
The biggest advantage of the municipal website on the average of the websites analyzed were produced in the economic and financial information, an area that reaches Cartagena 89.5 49.1 points against the global average.
In this edition of the ITA 2009, the scores achieved by all the municipalities evaluated have been significantly higher than those in 2008.
Thus, the overall average score of the 110 municipalities have reached 64'0 (out of 100) compared to that of 52'1 reached in 2008.
Moreover, while in 2008 there was only one City Hall, Bilbao, who obtained the qualification of Distinction (90 or more of 100) in 2009 were 14 local councils that have achieved such a rating of Excellent in transparency.
