Lifeguards Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena have tried unsuccessfully to revive in the last hours to three swimmers who died of cardiac arrest while bathing in the beaches of Puerto Bello Entremares and in the Manga, and smaller islands.
The first intervention occurred about 12.30 hours, when the sentry post Entremares Beach detected the presence of two swimmers who were struggling to get back to shore.
Two rescuers quickly came to his aid.
The first of the swimmers, who was closer to shore, got close to an area where the water covered her waist and told the lifeguard that would help to aid the other person who was presenting difficulties.
Once the second swimmer rescued and closer to shore, the guards found the first of about 50 years old, which came into cardiac arrest.
For several minutes unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate him while waiting for an ambulance that certified his death.
The other two interventions were recorded on the 13 and 13.30 hours in Minor Outlying Islands and Puerto Bello, respectively.
The victims were two people from about 70 to 90 years of age who entered cardiac arrest when they bathed in the bank.
Likewise, the Civil Protection rescue workers tried to resuscitate him for several minutes while the ambulance arrived they could not do anything to prove who had died.
