Pilar Barreiro Mayor this morning, along with Elena Ruiz Valdez and Sebastian Ramallo, the catalog has been published about the history of the Roman Theatre Museum.
The catalog, with 320 pages, is divided into four parts, including the discovery of the Theatre, excavation, consolidation and recovery project site and the exhibition buildings and a tour inside the museum and monument .
The book includes a selection of pieces of newly discovered and almost exclusively, as the shell material Byzantine or Islamic period, up to elements of the nineteenth century, so that through the history of the excavations will also understand history of the city.
The catálolgo, of which 1,000 copies have been published, may be purchased at the Museum shop at a price of 35 euros and will be distributed by the professional tours, study centers and research, so that it becomes a resource for researchers and scholars of the Roman, as indicated by the mayor.
It is not a book to promote itself, said Barreiro, just as the Roman Theatre is not just a tourist resort for the city, but an archaeological gem and as such should be treated and cared.
The specimen is complete with an English summary of the main points of the book and a comprehensive bibliography.
Elena Ruiz Valdez is the current director of the Museo del Teatro Romano and was, in turn, co-director of the archaeological excavations near Sebastian Ramallo.
