MOROCCAN AUTHORS INVITED
OUM Oum el Ghaït Benessahraoui .- born in 1978 in Casablanca, Morocco, and spent his youth in Marrakech.
Oum is part of that generation of new highly eclectic female voices who dare to soul, funk, fusion, disco and rhythm and blues, including its natural influences.
Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Diana Ross are the voices of reference.
Later approaches to hip hop and trip-hop, the universe of The Fugees, Erykah Badu or Goldfrapp.
It is considered one of the most promising voices of female Moroccan scene.
Asmaa Benadad .- sociologist and policy in Morocco
Aicha Bassry, born in Settat in 1960, graduated in Arabic Literature and Language from the University Mohamed V in Rabat and works as a teacher of Arabic in Casablanca.
He is a member of the House of Poetry and Writers' Union of Morocco.
He has published articles on visual arts in Morocco and poems in several national and international newspapers.
Some of his poems have been translated into Spanish, Catalan and French.
Has participated in poetry festivals in Morocco (Mediterranean Poetry Festival, 2001), Spain (Week Poetry Barcelona, 2002; Poetry Mediterranean, Palma de Mallorca, 2004), Egypt (Writing and Women, 2002; International Book Fair, 2005), France (Festival of Poetry, Caen, 2005; The LMA Thursday, Paris, 2005) and Jordan (Festival of Culture and the Arts, Jerash, 2005).
Chefchaouen Maimouni Mohamed was born in 1936, attended high school in Tetuan, he completed his university studies in Rabat, has a degree in Arabic philology, poetic experience beginning in 1958, is one of the most remarkable voices of Moroccan poetry, helped creation of the National Poetry Festival Moroccan held every year in Chefchaouen, has published several books of poetry: The last year of infertility (1974, The dream at the time of the fantasy (1992), The River Road (1995), Trees of hidden shadow (1996)
His poetry has been collected and published in 2002 by the Ministry of Culture of Morocco in two volumes that appeared six other unpublished poems: The circle of love (1996-1997), essential Names (1997), The inkwell things (1978), "What I see and I forget (2000), The Labyrinths of interpretation (2001), The return of Muhammad Al Nazari (2002)
A member of the Writers Union of Morocco and the House of Poetry in Morocco.
Khalid Raissouni, 1965, Moroccan poet and translator, a BA in Arabic, an Arabic teacher at the Spanish Institute of Tangier Severo Ochoa is also a member of the Writers' Union of Morocco since 1986, the House of Poetry in Morocco and founding member of the Association of Friends of Lorca Tetuan.
Rafael Alberti's Poetry Prize awarded by the Ministry of Education of the Embassy of Spain in Morocco, 2003.
Translated into Arabic many anthologies of poetry, Angel González, Francisco Brines, Luis Cernuda, Gerardo Diego, Pedro Salinas.
Mohamed Nedali Tahannaoute born in 1962 in a peasant family in the region of Marrakech.
After completing his secondary education in Marrakech, completed his training in France (he graduated in modern languages by getting a special cycle diploma in the Faculty of Philology of Nancy).
He currently teaches French at the Institute of Tahannaoute, south Morocco
Mahi is a multifaceted artist Binebine Moroccan known for his literary works and paintings.
Born in Marrakech in 1959, and 21 years went to Paris to study mathematics, where he worked as a teacher for several years and then went on to write and paint.
Binebine 1994 to 1999 he lived in New York where he got some of his paintings were part of the Guggenheim collection.
In 2002 he returned to Marrakesh where he still lives today.
Binebine has written six novels have been translated into several languages.
Include "The small boat" and "Pollen", available in Castilian, and dealing with unfamiliar difficulties to which you have to face anyone who decides to emigrate.
Najat El Hachmi born in Nador,
Morocco, in 1979, when his father had emigrated to Catalonia.
After eight years, first as a hobby, slowly writing was becoming a way to channel the anxiety of being in two places at once and in a way to bring these two worlds to which it belongs.
In 2004 he published the book I too am Catalan.
As Tertullian radio works and publishes articles in the press.
The last prize has been awarded the Ramon Llull Prize XXVIII 2008.
Muhammad besieged Tazi, a prolific novelist, short story writer and literary critic, author indispensable in Moroccan Arabic literary scene.
Since 1966, he published "meowing like cats," he continued to publish literary criticism, short stories, including "windows" which won the Book Prize of Morocco in 1997 and especially the novels as Ayyam -Ramadan (day of ashes, 1992), which is considered one of the 105 best novels of the twentieth century Arabs, Magarat (Cuevas, 1992) or Al-Jafafish (Bats, 2002), and kainate Muhtamala (fictional beings 2002).
He has his complete works published in several volumes published by the Ministry of Culture Morocco. His works have been translated into Spanish, French and English.
His literary output is characterized by a narrative pulse agile and, above all, by a clear perspective and criticism.
Rabia Mubarak .- Novelist, critic, essayist and writer of short stories, was born in Settat in 1940. He has a degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology. Works as a professor in the Faculty of Letters of Rabat and in 1961 he joined the EMU. It published in various newspapers and magazines Moroccans. It also tackles children's literature and is considered one of the obligatory references to the knowledge of Moroccan literature.
