The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, received this morning at the Platform in Defence of the Tajo-Segura, led by Juan Ramón Calero and composed of Antonio García Pagán, Mayor Mariano, Pedro Antonio Prisons and Millares, among others.
The platform the mayor said his main goal: the achievement of 500,000 signatures of citizens to move them to the Congress of Deputies and to consider his proposal to keep the Tajo-Segura, said Antonio Garcia Pagan, and have therefore requested cooperation of the City of Cartagena.
The mayor is committed to the components of this platform to convene a Board of Spokesmen for transmitting this goal and to establish working arrangements between the institution and the Platform.
For now, only in Cartagena Platform has over 3,000 signatures collected and is intended to travel during the summer in coastal areas to get more.
The deadline for this is January 29, 2010, but they trust that by that time have got the necessary signatures.
