The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today laid the foundation stone of Day Care Center (CED) of the council of Cartagena de Los Dolores, whose execution time is nine months.
Then moved to El Algar, where he visited the Day Care Center of the population, as of today be called 'Alfonso Escámez'.
The new CED project to be built in Los Dolores has been awarded 413,568 euros, while the total value, including land value, amounted to 570,396.
The autonomous region will contribute 470,487 euros.
The center will initially of 30 seats for the elderly and 10 for Alzheimer's patients, with reduced autonomy for daily activities and gaps in your situation.
This service is offered as a real alternative to residential housing and institutionalization, thereby easing the burden of dependency for the family unit.
In addition, the center will have the resources necessary for basic personal needs and socio-therapeutic and older people affected by different degrees of dependence.
As the CED of El Algar, cost 710,629 euros, of which the Community has contributed 603,884.
The center, which has 34 seats, began its service on February 2.
Of these positions, 20 of which are subsidized by the autonomous region, 15 are older people with limited functional capacity and 5 for seniors with Alzheimer's or other dementias.
During his stay in both councils, the Minister was accompanied by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Senior General Manager, Paloma Recio.
