Employment Workshop 'Small Infants', promoted by the Agency of Local Development and Employment of Cartagena in collaboration with the Regional Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and the European Union through the European Social Fund , has completed its first phase with the training of 32 unemployed women who, for one year, are prepared as kindergarten assistants.
Employment Workshops are included in measures to support employment creation and configured as a mixed employment and training targeting unemployed twenty-five or more years.
Participating workers acquire vocational and job training by performing work or services of public utility or social interest related to new employment sites, allowing their subsequent job placement both paid employment through the creation of business projects or social economy.
The internship takes place in the municipal nursery schools.
In addition to specific training as kindergarten assistants, it also provides training in risk prevention, information technology, environmental awareness, job seeking and entrepreneurship.
At the end of the employment workshop the students receive a certificate stating the duration in hours and the level of theoretical training and practical experience training modules taken.
