Isla Plana opens on Monday its Primary Care Center (10/07/2009)

The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, and Deputy Mayor of the City of Cartagena, Agustín Guillén, come on Monday, July 13, at the inauguration of the new Primary Care Centre Isla Plana, event to be held at 12, 30 hours.

The population of Isla Plana corresponds the basic health area of Puerto de Mazarrón belonging to the Health Area No. II of Cartagena.

The town now has a population of 736 inhabitants, although the center has capacity for 2,000 people.

The new IC replaces it worked so far in the local neighborhood association whose facilities were poor, and because of the inability to expand, it was decided to build a new one that could meet the needs of primary care area.

The building has a floor area of 192 square meters (of which 170 are useful) distributed on the ground floor with three distinct areas: Consulting, Management and Personnel and General Support Services (storage, toilets ,...).

It is a modern and quality provision that will enable professionals to develop their work in the best conditions for the benefit of all users, with air conditioning and data network throughout the building, which will allow the use of computerized medical record.

The total investment, including both the work and equipment, has been 361,820 euros, of which 146,820 has provided the City Council of Cartagena, in addition to the land, and the rest, the Autonomous Community.
