The old barracks of The Guide was the scenario that was tested Seismic Hazard Plan in the Region of Murcia
More than 140 personnel of emergencies, including fire, sanitation, members of the Local Police and Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Emergency Military Unit, participated today in the simulation of an intervention after an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 organized by region and carried out in the old barracks of the Guide, in Cartagena.
The exercise consisted of simulated rescue of a dozen people trapped under the rubble of buildings hit hard by the earthquake.
The exercise began at 08:00 hours with calls to 1-1-2 reporting that in Cartagena had felt an earthquake, and others who reported major damage to a former barracks, in which an unspecified number of workers works being undertaken.
Informed of the incident by the Emergency Coordination Center, firefighters rushed to the site's fire service and rescue the City of Cartagena and a Mobile Emergency Health Service of Murcia.
Sismimur
After knowing the extent of damage for a first report of the fire, Emergency Department Level 1 activated the Civil Protection Special Plan to the seismic risk in the Region of Murcia (Sismimur) and mobilized Mobile Command Unit the Emergency Department and the various intervention groups.

Intervention groups
The drill involved the activation of five emergency response teams and the Military Emergency Unit and the Security Forces and who is organized as follows:

Their task was to control fires, leaks and leaks.
