The decline in Navy patrol "Discovery" was held at the Arsenal in Cartagena on Tuesday 30 June at 12:00 hours.
The ceremony was chaired by Vice-Admiral Jorge Manuel Rosety Fernández de Castro, head of the Arsenal in Cartagena.
The "Discovery" is the first in a series of ships originally built as corvettes which takes its name, built in the 21 squad along with six others, designed for convoy escort in coastal or restricted.
As corvette carried out surveillance of the embargo imposed against Iraq by the United Nations in the Red Sea waters in 1990.
In 2000 he became a vessel of becoming part of the newly established Maritime Action Force.
Built in Empresa Nacional Bazan de Cartagena (Murcia), was delivered to the Navy on November 18, 1978.
Over the years the ship has made 2700 runs and 2000 he passed the sea.
