The Councillor for New Technologies, Agustín Guillén, accompanied by Councillor Area Decentralization, Nicolás Ángel Bernal, presided yesterday at the Civic Center Aljorra the closing ceremony of the computer courses and office Barrios III Digital Edition is has been developed from March to June 2009 in that council, the Barrio Virgen de la Caridad and Las Lomas de El Albujón.
In total, 459 students have passed through the 39 courses that have revolved around basic training, office and update web pages, adding these courses about 600 hours.
In addition, 54 people have participated in management courses at home, on CtBlog, CtPedia, eGovernment Platform CtInforma and Learn.
'Digital Barrios' was launched in 2007 and is an action which is included in 'Singular Cartagena City', a project of the municipality of Cartagena which has grants from the Ministry of Industry and the Autonomous Community, whose goal is promote, encourage and bring the information society among the citizens on advanced telecommunications services and new technologies.
So one of the main objectives is to introduce into the world of these new technologies for special groups: the elderly, women, immigrants or those who have difficulty of access or resources.
