The Councillor for Tourism, Javier Herrero, and the manager of Cartagena, Puerto de Culturas, Agustina Martínez, today presented the activities that are planned for the months of July and August, which expand the cultural tourism offer of the city and the public they are intended not only visitors but also from Cartagena.
The first novelty is to be offered rides on the boat tour around the bay of Cartagena in the evening, an initiative that, according to Smith, part of their own mayor, who believes that residents and visitors will like to enjoy this journey, which also will be offered a cocktail.
These tours, for groups of 40, will take place on Thursday and Friday in July and August, beginning July 2 and last one hour, from 21 to 22 hours, the price of 18 euros (15 euros with the membership card of Friends Cartagena Port of Cultures), and reservations can be made on the phone 968 50 00 93.
On the other hand, has also released another tourist proposal that includes two thematic routes, one of them, 'Secrets of Cartagena', on the ancient Cartagonova, the golden age of the city during which belonged to wealthy Roman Empire, with guided by the findings of the most important ancient city and a treasure hunt for visitors to be drawn between a weekend somewhere off the coast of the region.
Visits will be made Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and the price will be 12 and 9 euros.
The second thematic routes, also with a guide, will be on the defense of the city, with forts and shore batteries along the way, will be held Monday and Wednesday and the price will be between 15 and 12 euros.
In both cases, the visits will last about three hours and begin at 10.30 am, with groups of up to 25 people.
In addition, another novelty is that during these months of July and August, the interpretation centers Cartagena Port of Cultures will be open daily, Monday through Sunday.
VISITS MORE THAN LAST YEAR
The manager of Cartagena, Puerto de Culturas, Agustina Martinez, has released data from visitors to the resorts of the city, highlighting an increase of 77 percent in the number of visitors compared to last year.
To date, nearly 150,000 people have passed through Cartagena Port of Cultures, of which 45 percent are domestic tourists, 18 percent are foreigners and 40 percent are in the Region of Murcia.
