More than 3,500 people at the concerts of ECOS 08-09 (25/06/2009)

More than 3,500 people have enjoyed since October of nine concerts, one for each month, which has had the second edition of ECOS cycle from 1908 to 1909 organized by the municipality of Cartagena by the Department of Culture and Classical music has filled various areas of the city.

In this second edition of ECOS cycle has received professional groups with the highest musical quality.

Of note is the presence of great international importance groups such as The King-s Singers, from the United Unico, Italy Dolce Tempesta, Delian Quartett of Germany and France and Bl! Ndman of Belgium.

Along with these groups, national groups and performers acted renowned both from the Region of Murcia and the rest of Spain.

Regarding the previous 2007-2008 edition must first note an increasing number of concerts - has grown from six to nine concerts - and the incorporation of a unique space for music as is the newly opened Museum Theatre Romano, whose Hall of Augusto hosted two exceptional concerts with music by Schumann and Brahms in October and Spanish Renaissance music in January.

Public response to Cartagena has exceeded all expectations: They are almost all concerts in which they have completed the maximum capacity allowed space.

It should be noted in this regard the concerts of The King-s Singers in May, which completely filled the auditorium of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena two hours before the concert, Dolce tempesta in February at the Church of Santo Domingo, whose ship was completely packed with people sitting on benches and standing in the aisles and the two concerts held in October (Delian Quartett) and January (Banchetto musicale) in the Museo del Teatro Romano, where for safety of exhibits not occupation allowed more than the chairs allowed.

The last outdoor concert in June, carried out by the percussion group Perku-go, completely filled the Town Hall Square with people sitting and standing.

The excellent performance of this concert series has given rise to is already preparing the next edition of ECOS 09-10 cycle that will keep the number of concerts and will seek the incorporation of new areas of the city for their realization.

ECOS cycle was formed during the 2007-08 with the idea of a musical journey with a monthly concert for various periods of music history, with the aim of bringing it to the public in a fun, diverse and enriching.

The main objective of the cycle has been the creation of an audience of classical music in Cartagena.
