The first phase of works of redevelopment project Calle Juan Fernandez, included in Plan E, which affects the section between Queen Victoria and Trafalgar streets, is currently at its most complicated, with drainage works and sewerage and any renewal of the rainwater collector.
In regard to sewers, pipes are being laid between 600 and 800 mm in diameter, but the really complex is the work on stormwater collector, replacing the one who had so far, and ovoid 1.80 meters at the widest part of the other way round and 1.50 meters in diameter.
This was a defendant and needed action in the area, and the collector was badly damaged and dirty, with 40 percent of mud in some sections, and collects water from Urbincasa and Garden City, but also those from the Six Hundred.
Moreover, and to avoid disturbing the neighbors, are working without cutting the supply, which further complicates the job.
The intention of those responsible for the project is to expand the works to the following sections, first from Trafalgar Street to Jorge Juan, to be extended in August of Queen Victoria to the Paseo Alfonso XIII, matching the performance of the work in the months less active.
Remember that work began on 27 May with a deadline of six months and a budget of EUR 2,334,574.41.
The performance, in addition to the issue of sanitation and storm, is a complete renovation of the street Juan Fernandez, with resurfacing of sidewalks, traffic lanes and parking area, installation of lighting and landscaping.
During the work on each section will be closed to traffic the same, although they will always try to avoid most of the nuisance to neighbors.
Also affect the parking, which is prohibited, and the passage of buses lines 1 and 2, which are deflected by Bruna Angel Street.
