Councillor for Celebrations of the City of Cartagena, Florentina Garcia Vargas, and the president of Grupo Folklorico de La Palma, Pedro Antonio Gómez, today presented the XVII Festival of Folklore which is held every year in that council, and that this edition will take place between 8 and 12 July.
Rural medicine in the past and curiosities on this topic will be the centerpiece of an edition that will feature performances on July 10 Jarcha folk group, which marked a before and after the Spanish musical scene in 70's and has been very interested in participating in this festival unveils rural ethnography and anthropology around us, as highlighted Pedro Gomez.
For its part, the councilor of Celebration has stressed the effort that has conducted a program to provide enjoyable, fun and quality, which we can expand the cultural offer that is organized from the City and enjoy the first summer nights of music from other lands, with folk groups from other lands such as Almería, Almendralejo or Avila.
In addition to musical performances will be discussion / debate on rural medicine and herbal medicine, or the use of native plants for healing, and a photographic exhibition and workshops mining heritage and environmental games for children.
All activities are free and the festival will, like every year, the Agricultural and Food Experimental Station, known as 'The Palm of the Great Houses' of Palma.
