Last Saturday met in Cala Reona participants in the current edition of 'The Box of Time' in a day of sharing that was marked by the recognition he received in appreciation for their involvement in activities with a positive social impact on their neighborhoods.

Throughout the afternoon, the young visitors could enjoy swimming at the beach and interact in a relaxed way through the various fun activities planned: sports, tattoo shops and braiding, drumming and dancing display multicultural.

Then it gave way to 'snack' and delivery of certificates for their successful participation in "The Time Box".

This will put an end to the current edition of this project sponsored by the departments of Youth and Social Care, which has already reached its sixth edition, with the aim of giving young people a sense of responsibility in their communities, and to promote closer to other sources of support and guidance towards full social inclusion.

The organizers view positively the impact of this new edition, once again, has managed to meet all expectations.

On this occasion the number of applications received has reached twice the places offered, noting a considerable increase over previous editions.

Finally have been over 100 participants, since last February, have had the opportunity to devote 4,600 hours to community tasks.

You can highlight, among others, the following:

Support the activities of the Social and Cultural Association Book La Botica in the neighborhood José María Lapuerta

Open a Youth Information Point in San Anton

Arrangements of painting in the local social and Lo Campano Los Mateos

Animation activities for children framed in the Intercultural Week Cartagena I

Arrangements for painting at the San Fernando Street

Support in conducting surveys for a study on the situation of young migrants in Cartagena

Support activities under the "Mucho Mas Mayo Festival in the historic", as well as their distribution

Settlement of local public Calle Mayor Manuel Carmona of the Virgen de la Caridad neighborhood

Support activities in the Youth Partnerships Fair Cartagena and Entreculturas "Hall II" for the Integration of Immigrants in IFEPA.

In addition, over the past five months, the young participants were able to complement these tasks with the assistance of several socio talks: resources to complete the training, tools for job search, affective-sexual education and skills for drug prevention .

These talks have taken place thanks to the close collaboration with the Youth Space and the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction.

Following the basic operation of "The Case of Time", participation in these activities has been rewarded with a 'credits' that young people have been redeemed by a network of retail partners for the purchase of goods of interest, such as sports, music, clothing, telephone, food, books, etc.

This year a new feature here is the redemption of some participants to purchase tickets to concerts of the Festival "La Mar de Músicas".

Taking advantage of the summer break, the municipal areas and the various associations involved in charge of project development in each territorial area, shall be responsible for memory and evaluation work with the intention to clarify the results achieved and, thus, to guide planning of actions to undertake in the future.
