The Governing Council has approved an agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and the Port Authority of Cartagena to carry out control and monitoring of land-sea discharges and water quality in the port area.
Under the agreement, the Ministry will design a training program for staff of the Port Authority of Cartagena and establish operational guidelines to implement the above control and monitoring tasks.
To do this, fix a protocol in case of detection of a discharge from land to the port waters.
For its part, the Port Authority will participate in the inspection plans approved by the Autonomous Community, so that the staff of its Division of Safety and Environment and the Security Service and Police to perform the tasks of collecting, sampling and custody to be determined in the plan.
