The Local Government Board, with the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, front, has reviewed the devices today that the City will start in Cartagena beach areas this summer, a device that has been gradually implemented since middle of last May and will run until September 30, being the maximum deployment time from 1 July to 31 August.
Precisely at that time point, the mayor, who was accompanied by Council of Infrastructure and Services, José Vicente Albaladejo, and Public Safety and Tourism, Javier Herrero, announced that there will be a daily average of 215 municipal workers beaches only between maintenance and cleaning workers, local police and search and rescue specialists.
From mid-May, a device is active 16 workers conducting maintenance and cleaning beaches and on 1 June, launched the first phase of rescue, which involved 14 members of civil protection and lifeguard surveillance three beaches (Galúa, Barco Perdido and San Ginés).
On Monday June 15 begins the second phase of the special device on beaches, which will involve the implementation of all the means available for maintenance and cleaning, and the expansion of search and rescue service.
In general, the device is similar to that of last summer with the goal of maintaining service levels for swimmers who gave such good results, highlighted Pilar Barreiro.
To achieve this we will continue assisting people who are in difficulties, but also continue using the media that gives us the ordinance of beaches, allowing to fine bathers who disobey the ban on bathing.
The mayor hopes that it can maintain the quality of our beaches and tourism, in this connection, it recalled the great success we have ten distinct Q represents quality and seven blue flags, which put us ahead in the Mediterranean coast.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING BEACHES
There will be a total of 104 workers, among the 67 workers of the Coastal and 37 with reinforcing the street cleaning service.
The cleaning machine shall consist of a total of 26 units, including sweepers, trucks and beach cleaning machines, half of which are newly acquired.
Remember that last year the coast is divided into three zones, Zone 1 includes all of La Manga in Cartagena, including Villas Cape Palos and Caravaning.
Zone 2 includes everything from Mar Menor sea glass to Punta Brava.
And Zone 3 includes the beaches of the west (El Portus, Isla Plana and La Azohía).
Be taken to avoid inconvenience to visitors and to do the beach cleanup will be held between 22 am and 5 pm every day.
Only be cleaned in the morning those beaches that is not recommended to take machinery at night because of their size or difficulty of access (as Cala Reona o Portús).
The cleaning of bins on beaches will be made with two 4x4 vehicles, including daily maintenance of bridges, washing feet and hits.
It is also planned the installation of 44 chemical toilets for beach service.
In addition, this year our beaches will have 6 points for disabled bathroom and a seventh point Caravaning mobile in Villas will be assisted by Red Cross volunteers and can move at the request of the swimmers.
This special device for cleaning and maintenance will remain operational until September 30.
SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY
As for safety on beaches, on Monday starts the second level of the device, which runs until 1 August.
Checkpoints on beaches pass from 3 to 15 and staff will save 14 to 55 people.
7 units will be on duty at sea between ships and watercraft and 12 units on the ground.
Between 1 and August 31 will rescue device to the third level.
The beach monitoring stations are 22 and rescue personnel will rise to 70.
At that time the council will have on the beaches, and other specialists, 50 lifeguards, boat rescuers 7 patterns.
These human resources must be added the materials, with 3 rescue watercraft, 4 rescue boats, 3 quads, 2 basic life support ambulances and 2 quick response vehicles, among other units.
As on previous occasions, between 1 and September 15 will become the second level of service and in the second half of September, the first level of extraordinary service on beaches.
ADDITIONS TO THE LOCAL POLICE
The performance of the local police in the face of summer will be reinforced with 11,000 hours of service, or what is the same, 1,360 additional services in addition to the usual device in the city and neighborhood and county.
This means that the number of extra staff time per shift and fluctuate between 30 and 70 agents.
Police services will be supported by 4 quarters summer.
In the El Algar and Cabo de Palos, which are fixed, will join the foundation to be established offices in the Institute of coastline in the Azohía and grandchildren.
Thus, La Manga will have 2 patrols per shift, and there is 1 patrol duty in the Mar Menor, El Algar and La Azohía.

Saturdays will increase to 4 the number of patrols in La Manga at night and 5 on Sunday morning.
This deployment does not include other special services to be provided to maintain security in the festivities (a minimum of 17 festivals on the beaches) or summer events like the Med Cup, La Mar de Músicas concert or MTV, which held in late July and is expected to attract about 40,000 spectators to our city.
