The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the new regional secretary of the Workers' Commissions, Daniel Good, have today held a formal meeting in which they used to review the current state of crisis and how it is affecting the city.
The conclusion we have reached is that the investment and enhancement of Cartagena's tourist attractions are promoting this sector in such a way that manages to counteract the effects of the crisis in another sector, construction, serving as a perfect alternative .
In regard to the industrial situation of the city, Daniel Bueno has stressed the importance of building the new plant of Repsol, resulting in job creation, as with the construction of the submarine S-80 by Navantia , a wonderful news for Cartagena and ancillary businesses in the area to participate in this work.
Not so with zincs, a topic with which the Secretary of CC OO has shown little optimistic about the lack of commitment by the company as far as funding is concerned.
To end his visit, Daniel Bueno has appealed to the status of national deputy for the PP mayor to fight for a pact for employment and the economy go hand in hand to the big parties and social agents.
