The City of Cartagena, through the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction (LDCs), has expressed support for the Huertecica with a contribution of 15,000 euros.
The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, was commissioned to deliver the check to director Huertecica result of a collaboration agreement between the Municipal Institute of Social and such an association to launch the project of Addictive Behaviors.
Prevention Project of Addictive Behaviors is aimed at children and families, offering guidance and support to families at the beginning of the problem, reducing risks and promoting the skills of parents in the emergence and development of protective factors related to drug use.
The group 'La Huertecica' is a non-profit association, which has among its objectives the rehabilitation and social reintegration of drug addicts, and is part of the City Commission of Drug Addiction.
The Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction (LDCs), for its part, aims to prevent and reduce drug use in the town, promoting healthy lifestyles among the population.
For the next years (2008-2012), prevention is the most important goal, meeting the demand of the population that consider prevention as the most important means to address the problems caused by drug use in society.
