More roundabouts to relieve traffic on the Gran Vía de La Manga (15/05/2009)

The Local Government of the City of Cartagena has approved the signing of an agreement with the Autonomous Community of Murcia to construct new roundabouts to regulate traffic on the Gran Via de La Manga.

Specifically, the agreement has approved financing of a new roundabout at the Square Cavanna and suitability of sidewalks and gardens for which the regional government will provide 300,506 euros.

As explained Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, this roundabout will be continued to the recently built in the area of triols and South Bank, and the bike path between these two roundabouts.

The ultimate goal is to improve traffic flow on the Gran Vía de La Manga.

STOPPED TO IMPROVE THE GARDENS

On the other hand, the Local Government Board has approved the proposed use of improved management of public gardens in Cartagena and the request for a grant to the Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF), to contract in October and for nine months, 29 workers from unemployment, in the following occupations: agricultural engineer, technical specialist in gardening (FP), designer, administrative assistant, gardener official, officer of masonry, official painter, plumbing official, officer and assistant conductor gardener.

The grant requested from the SEF is intended to cover most of the recruitment of unemployed amounted to 800,000 euros, assuming the City the cost of materials and the rest of the staff costs amounting to around 200,000 euros.

TERM CONTRACTS FOR MONITORING THE BEACHES

Finally, and among other matters the Board of Governors has approved the basis for the temporary hiring of 27 people for surveillance and rescue on the beaches for the year 2009 and the establishment of a job.

The recruitment will cover as appropriate between June and September.

The positions to be filled are two ambulance drivers, communications coordinator, two beaches rescue coordinators and 22 rescuers.

This is the second year that the City cover these positions with contract staff in order to achieve greater professionalism and safety in the surveillance of beaches.
