On Friday, May 8, has welcomed the expected end of the contest between strings and brass where the winners received their well deserved prize, in the Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez López, and the councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero Register.
It opened with the interpretation of the solo flute, Raquel Díaz Dodge along with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, then gave way to the awards ceremony where it was announced the jury's verdict in all forms, the first prize in each of 700 euros and second prizes of 300 euros.

WOODWIND:
- Two special mentions: for ENCARNA ISABEL LÓPEZ CASTEJÓN (clarinet) and Alejandro ORTUÑO Gelardo (Flute).
- Second Prize: 300 euros worth ALCALÁ BERNARDO TELLO (Clarinet).

- First prize, valued at 700 euros for ALEJANDRO ZAMORA Gumbao (Saxophone).

ROPE:
- Second Prize: 300 euros worth RAMOS SAMUEL ESCOBAR (bass).

- Second Prize: desert

Closed the event the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.
The main goal that has defined this event has been training young musicians not only through its participation in the competition but also giving the winner the opportunity to perform a concert with a professional orchestra, which contributes in an important their training as musicians.
It is very important the support from various authorities is being given both the City of Cartagena, through its Department of Youth and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, and the autonomous community through the General Directorates of Academic Cultural Promotion and without whose cooperation would be impossible for commemorative concerts began last two editions.
Within a few years, among these young students will have an important group of musicians and we have the satisfaction of us who have been helping them in their infancy.
