The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, expressed his discontent with the decision of the Ministry of Economy to delay payment of the certificates of Plan E, which initially would be paid as liquidating the works and has now announced the State be made later this year or early next.

This, according to Barreiro, is troubling because it creates problems of liquidity and a significant financial cost to the council, which now has to negotiate with banks to pay the money cost of works, mostly small works that are the first end, while generating some interest that municipalities have to pay.

In addition, the mayor added, this must be added that the municipal budget has been necessary to include more than one million euros for the extra costs generated by the haste with which they have had to hire the work.

Finally, Pilar Barreiro has focused its criticism of the Plan E form, claiming that if the funds had been negotiated with the Federation of Municipalities, maybe he would have a less burdensome for municipalities.

In another vein, the mayor alluded to the statements of President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, praising the work of Barreiro in the mediation with Repsol to get the redevelopment of the complex in Cartagena, ensuring that the merit is shared with the president, whose presence provided security to the company at a time which raised close and finally decided to the contrary, doubling its facilities.
