Murcia The Executive has approved an aid of 45,000 euros from the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research at the transport company and Bus Lines SA, official dealer of transport between Murcia and Cartagena, to help lower the bus fare for students who travel from Murcia to pursue his studies at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
This aid is a uniform reduction of the note which students must pay 3.60 euros daily bonus.
Thus, the autonomous region encourages the use of public transport bound for the UPCT university campus, a journey in which there are more than 1,500 daily trips from Murcia.
This initiative involves an optimization of resources, energy savings, travel safety and preservation of the environment by reducing pollution, while making it less burdensome to family economies this additional but necessary expenditure allocated to education of children.
It also contributes to the objective of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research to increase equality of opportunity in access of citizens to higher education.
