The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, along with the Minister for Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca, this morning visited the Youth and Employment complex Quarry where it develops the Workshop School Hostel, a job training program, whose budget rises to 1.2 billion euros and employs 48 workers.
This Training Workshop is the fourth-job training initiative funded by the regional government in the quarry area, so that investments in youth and use complex totaling 3.5 million euros and enable the formation of a total of 158 unemployed.
Some actions that are complementary project to rehabilitate the old center of the mentally handicapped as Youth and Employment Center, which is running the City, in the amount of amount of 1,112,000 euros, and turn it into a large youth center with areas dedicated a young building, classroom study, information point, classrooms free access to internet, media, toy libraries, photo labs, classroom training for employment and hotel associations, among others, as the mayor has detailed.
Barreiro has been advanced that by September the work will be delivered later this year and the center is fully equipped and ready to go to work.
As explained by counsel in this School Workshop participants younger than 25 who are building a service building that will support the Youth Hostel.
On the other hand, provides for the establishment of a toilet support shelter and rehabilitation of the perimeter wall of the property that is the focus of occupational training.
The Minister stressed that employment workshops and schools are configured as interesting workshop training tools and access to the labor market, given that raise the qualifications of students and their chances of finding a job.
He noted that these programs enable workers, students develop social interest tasks for two years, which is a very valuable experience.
The 48 unemployed will be trained in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, landscaping and masonry.
During the first six months of the project, students receive a scholarship and was later hired by the ADLE, for a period of 18 months.
Barreiro and Sotoca have used the visit to know also the work done previously by three other schools and employment workshops that focused on business in this Youth and Employment Center, as were the Roman quarries Workshop School, who restored an old warehouse and ship cafeteria and a water tank and arbor, the employment workshop Quarries, which adapted the environment, creating a landscaped area with roads, new species of plants and irrigation and Employment Workshop Isaac, built a Moorish-style plaza.
