The festival 'Mucho Mas Mayo' turn this issue to the district of Santa Lucia in the main space projects, making it the leading stage of cultural activities to be carried out.
Among the initiatives of the festival in the neighborhood, have scheduled two free courses 'approach to contemporary art', conducted by Pedro Medina, director of the Cultural Area of the Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid.
The first course will take place on May 15 and is intended for managers of Neighbourhood Associations of Cartagena.
The second course, scheduled for May 16, will target the residents of Santa Lucia and ends with a guided tour of the works of the festival.
The courses will be held in the premises of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations 'Fernando Garrido', in the old schools of St. Lucia.
Another project of the festival was to perform a study called 'practices, habits and cultural imagination in Santa Lucia', whose findings have been published in the Youth Space website (http://www.cartagena.es/espaciojoven).
The study was led by sociologist María Escudero Vera, who has made 114 surveys.
Among the main findings revealed that the younger population has a greater affinity for reading and older adults, radio is the closest media (41% say they listen to daily) and that women attend Most often a cultural and artistic classes.
Dali is the contemporary artist best remembered by respondents and Quiros, the most popular artist from Cartagena (22% of people remember his name).
The festival 'Much may' is known by more than half of respondents, identifies 55% of the sample.
After this year's festival will be passed a second survey to assess the impact it has had on the inhabitants of the district of Santa Lucia.
