From Monday 20 April to Thursday 23 end of voting period started last Monday and decide the fourth edition of the Prize Mandarache, this successful project to promote reading with a literary award.
During these days, the 2,100 young Cartagena between 15 and 30 who make up the jury voted the novel Mandarache most liked through the web www.premiomandarache.es among the three finalists in this edition: Mira if I love you (Alfaguara, 2007) Luis Leante, the amazing journey of Pomponio Flato (Seix Barral, 2008) by Eduardo Mendoza, and the offense (Seix Barral, 2007) Ricardo Menéndez Salmon.
Besides Mandarache Young Reader Award, this year vote for the first time more than 1,000 adolescents between 12 and 14 who are members of the jury again Hache Youth Literature Prize, whose finalists are Care Santos, for his novel Ask the moon (Edebe, 2008), Elia Barceló, for hazardous Futures (Edelvives, 2008) and Andreu Martín, Chats (Algar, 2008).
The finalists have visited Cartagena writers throughout the school year to meet the hundreds of readers who have read his works.
As for the awards, in both cases have a prize of 3,000 euros respectively and a sculpture by Angel Haro, and will be delivered by hand to the writers that are winners in a ceremony led by the artist Luisma Soriano, to be held on May 6 at the Nuevo Teatro Circo and which will present the finalists for the next edition.
PRIZE STRUCTURE
The prize structure is divided into 8 Mandarache allocations totaling euro this year amounts to 8,500 euros, so that in addition to Mandarache and Nobel Prize Hache (a winning authors), there are six additional prizes to those who can eligible youth enrolled and teaching departments or non-teachers.
For additional awards, the deadline for submission is Friday 24 April at 14h, and the basis of these awards can be found on the web www.premiomandarache.es , in the 'Your Awards'.
All prizes will be awarded at the gala Awards Mandarache Hache and next May 6, 2009, in the Nuevo Teatro Circo Cartagena.

HACHE JUVENILE LITERATURE PRIZE: worth 3,000 euros and a sculpture by artist Angel Haro.

AWARD FOR BEST LITERARY CRITICISM (for registered Mandarache Award).
This prize is worth $ 300 in books and newspaper publishing.

III Contest of micro (for registered Mandarache Award).
To encourage creative writing in a genre as fashionable as hiperbreve fiction, the prize is worth $ 300 in books and publishing.

IDEAS COMPETITION FOR THE PROMOTION OF READING AROUND Mandarache (for reading Mandarache committees and Hache).
This award is also endowed with $ 300 in books.

AWARD FOR THE BEST WORK OF A DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, with a budget of $ 1,000 in equipment for the department.
Awarded a special jury.
AWARD NO PERSON OR ENTITY THAT TEACHERS PERFORMED BETTER BUILDING INITIATIVE READING (in order to promote Mandarache in associations and citizen) worth $ 300 in books.
