Salvador Marín says Info tool provides a comprehensive consultancy service to create a 'land market', generating growth and quality employment in the region of Cartagena

The Ministry of Universities, Business and Research has launched the Advanced Service Advisory Business Opportunities in Cartagena, which aims to support up to 1,500 small and medium enterprises in the region to achieve and expand their business contracts.

In particular the CEO Salvador Marin explained that this new tool Development Institute (Info) offers two months for companies with a comprehensive consulting service to create a "regional market" that "brings growth and quality employment in Cartagena and its region. "

Previous studies conducted by the regional government and the Association of Young Entrepreneurs, in collaboration with the City, the Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena, has detected up to 28 business opportunities in the area characterized by its public impact and the need to develop outsourcing projects of SMEs.

Of these 28 business opportunities, from the Advanced Service Advice is already working at 17, that offer real opportunities for market expansion of 82 existing businesses and 11 new, which will this year, according to projections of info, keep 500 jobs and create 100 new.

"Since the service has been reported in two months to 357 companies in the county of business opportunities that fit your profile, 61 of which are already in contact with the bidders.

These companies have a total of 350 workers and our estimate is that if the contract would create about 50 jobs more, "said the counselor.

The Advisory Service Business Opportunities Cartagena, framed in the new Info coordination office in the city, is located in February at the European Business and Innovation of Cartagena and advice to SMEs on supply and demand data services, support for project development, reporting mechanisms and application support for preparation and submission of tenders, project updates and needs, forming partnerships, coordination of requirements, distribution of opportunities, and identification capabilities.

In addition, this new office will provide employers in the region the regional innovation, internationalization, and financial means for undertaking, among others, offering the info from its headquarters in Murcia.

Marin said that this initiative is part of the Industrial Plan and is a bet on the Ministry "to decentralize and strengthen the presence in Cartagena Info" and acts as a meeting of supply and demand of companies.

"It is not merely have a list of business opportunities, but a thorough analysis of the same, the services that will be necessary to pay in its implementation and development of SMEs and Cartagena which by its nature can be done with the contract, "concluded the director.

Monitoring Committee

Also, in addition to this committee, the Office organizes monthly meetings with the entities that generate business opportunities in detailing the characteristics of services that will be demanded and technical requirement, which makes the possibilities for SMEs the region can better adapt to demand and gain the contracts.

Among the business opportunities identified are generated by the expansion of Repsol in tailings facilities, airport, waste recovery, renewable energy, tourism and health services or the development of industrial infrastructure and knowledge.

In view of the "excellent results" of the Service Business Opportunity, the Minister announced that Info instructed the office to export this model to other counties in the Region of Murcia.
