The result of collaboration between the Bancaja Young Entrepreneurs of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the Agency of Local Development and Employment of the City of Cartagena and Development Agency of Murcia, has launched a new research study on entrepreneurial skills high school students in the municipality, particularly students of 3 º ESO, which shows that young people have cartageneros initiatives and corporate vision.
These are the strengths but also the study reveals the areas in which flagging the 'nascent entrepreneurs', who are planning and the ability to solve problems that may arise, which means that although create many companies, not all are maintained.
Thus, the results of the study, motivated by the need to foster entrepreneurship in early formative stages, show that the dimension in which students feel more prepared is related to communication (listening skills, teamwork, search for friends), while the worst are considered related capacity planning (evaluate their actions, information search, set specific goals).
Whereas the gender of the students there are significant differences, in fact the students are better able to take responsibility and listen, while the students are better positioned in terms of its ability to maintain morale.
It should be noted, finally, that this attitude of young people are greatly influenced by role models to follow, which is the parent, so the students whose parents are entrepreneurs have a greater vision (ability to propose new ideas and solutions) in comparison with other students.
During the presentation of this study, the Councilman who spoke on Employment, Javier Herrero, Head of Department of Entrepreneurship and Promotion Sectoral Development Agency of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, Javier Celdran, and Assistant Director the Bancaja Young Entrepreneurs of the UPCT, Antonia Madrid, have also released other entrepreneurial activities programmed for 2009, such as video '5 Success Stories. "
In it, we are invited to learn the story of 5 UPCT alumni, motivated by the entrepreneurial spirit and public support by those who could have decided to take the plunge and start a business venture, recounting their experiences and the satisfaction of what began as a dream and eventually became a successful reality that helps to generate employment.
For his part, Javier Smith recalled the large number of initiatives from the ADLE are being carried out to promote entrepreneurship through courses broadcast, university conferences and all the joint actions that show the creation of companies as an option future.
At present and according to surveys conducted by the Bancaja between UPCT students, 15 percent of them seriously considered starting a business in the next 5 years, reflecting a change for the better with regard to last 10 years.
