The Director General of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo, today inaugurated the Sixth Regional Trade Show and Craft of the City of Cartagena in the 27 participating artisans of the region.
This exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, is located in the port, against Isaac Peral submarine, and is open until April 12, from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 22 : 30 hours.
Lorenzo said this shows "continues to grow and consolidate, and energizes the historic center of Cartagena and retailers."
In fact, this year has 27 stands, which next week will add another 24 of the Artisan Food Fair VII.
The show is framed within the measures contained in the Trade Promotion Plan 2008-2010 of the Ministry, in proceedings relating to the revitalization of trade in urban centers to become an attraction for visitors from different parts of the region.
"The fact to coincide with Easter is an added value, since it is a time when both the city of Cartagena and the coast receives a large number of tourists," said the CEO.
In addition to the dynamic effect of trade it brings, the show also aims to promote regional handicrafts.
Lorenzo said that "from the Ministry to provide artisans the opportunity to deliver their work as key to their business becoming stronger and more competitive, adapt to market needs and an increasingly demanding public."
In this edition participating artisans from various disciplines and professions such as cheese, pastry, embossed leather, paper and cardboard maker, natural cosmetics, metalistero art, lace, a silversmith, potter pottery, jewelery, cuffs, designer, leather goods, painter, draftsman, binder or processor of canned vegetables.
Also, do not miss a representation of the trade of glassmaking, which "boasts a long tradition in Cartagena and has given him much fame during the last century," the director general.
