Pilar Barreiro Mayor this morning visited the works of the Auditorium and Congress Palace, begun in summer 2004.
Barreiro has been accompanied by Deputy Mayor Agustín Guillén, Councilman José Vicente Albaladejo Infrastructure and Town Planning, Joaquín Segado.
The mayor said that the works are behind schedule and will be after the summer of 2010 when they come to an end.
The mayor pointed out that, once the Auditorium and Congress Centre is launched, it will be one of the best in the world, both for its technical features as its capabilities.
Barreiro added that it has been working for months, along with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, in the implementation of the Convention Bureau, which must be rhythmically in time with the progress of work of this infrastructure cultural.
An auditorium that will culminate to form part of a market, tourism, in which repository should be at the forefront and offer a wide and varied, he said.
In turn, the architect in charge of the project, José Selgas, said that it has completed the construction of any building structure, whose appearance will change dramatically over recent months.
Auditorium and Conference Centre is nestled in a parcel of 17,000 square meters, near the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQVA).
The main hall will seat 1,500 spectators and room B, 500 spectators.

As the urbanization of the environment of the Auditorium and Congress Hall, Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, has indicated that the City signed an agreement with the Ministry of Culture for the joint adaptation ARQVA environment and the Auditorium.
