Increased police presence ahead of Easter (27/03/2009)

Local Safety Board has released today the security device has been prepared for the celebration of Easter in Cartagena goes smoothly, and that is the result of coordination and collaboration between Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection Forces and State Security, such as National Police and Civil Guard.

Thus, there will be an average of 217 police officers per day in three shifts, from Good Friday until Easter Sunday, with the news that it will launch a special boost in traffic, between 4 and 6 staff, governing circulation around the perimeter of the pedestrian zone, due to construction of the Plaza of Spain and Royal Street.

For its part, the Fire Department also reinforces the regular guards, who have 17 troops in the Security Park, with two seals, one of 7 agents in the Plaza de San Francisco, where he remained throughout Holy Week, and one in Carlos III, starting Holy Wednesday.

A total of 237 guards and 6,168 hours of service.

Civil Protection is also involved in this safety device, providing an average of 20 troops per day, a first aid in the Plaza de San Francisco, an operating room 112, with attention 24 hours a day and an ambulance during the development of all processions.

As for the Forces of State Security (National Police and Civil Guard), will take part in the operation with some 2,700 services, uniformed officers and street, and focusing mainly on avoiding traffic incidents, access control, evacuation and outputs at key moments.

This agreement would entail the development of a Local Safety Plan that would include joint action programs and planned, a protocol for assistance in automated information (access to databases) or the installation of a shared technical operations.
