The Department of Social Services, through the Municipal Volunteer Program, organized the Second Course of Basic Training for Volunteers, celebrated the 25th and 26th March at the Graduate Hall School of Telecommunications in Building Antiguones .
This second edition of the course consists of three modules: Introduction to Volunteering, Volunteering in the care of vulnerable groups and knowledge of the activities and operations of an NGO.
The first module covers the following learning units: 1 .- Definition of Volunteering Who can be a volunteer?, Motivations and benefits of volunteering.
2 .- What is volunteer work?, And their characteristics.
3 .- Requirements to be a volunteer, values and commitments.
4 .- Functions of the volunteer.
5 .- How to participate.
6 .- The legal framework for voluntary action and volunteering policies.
7 .- Classification of fields of action in voluntary action.
8 .- Values Framework volunteering, rights and duties of volunteers and voluntary practices.
9 .- Where to volunteer.
The second module their teaching units are based on the Volunteer: 1 .- Elderly.
2 .- Disabled and chronically ill or degenerative.
3 .- Children, youth, women and other groups at risk.
4 .- Immigrants.
5 .- Mental health and substance abuse.
6 .- International cooperation.
7 .- Environmental, sporting and cultural.
European .- 8 .- 9 .- Incorporation of municipal programs.
Once the previous modules, the third will practice in volunteer organizations, in order to know the actions that are performed in different entities.
The units will be taught by experts from the Municipal Institute of Social Services, Volunteers Platform, Directorate General of Immigration and Volunteerism and Partnerships in volunteering activities.
This course is organized by the volunteer program of the City of Cartagena and Polytechnic University Volunteers Platform and collaboration of the Directorate General of Immigration and volunteering in the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
