The Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, in its twelfth edition, has organized a series of promotional gigs to support our young musicians, winners of the eleventh edition of Between strings and brass.
The novice performers had the opportunity to work with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena Lorca, San Javier and the city port, between the months of November and December last year 2008.
Now, after the promotional gigs, it's time that the 80 young people who have submitted to the XII edition of this contest, live the unique experience that is acting in an auditorium to present their music.
The concerts begin with the singing mode on Monday 23 March, the other modes developed during the month of April.
In this edition, the young performers will demonstrate their artistic talents in seven disciplines: singing, brass, percussion, strings, guitar, woodwinds and piano.
The young participants, who must be pursuing professional studies in music of the instrument with which they compete, will perform two classical pieces of free choice of different styles, both being edited.
All auditions will be held in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, where the starting time of the semifinals, at 18 hours, except in the form of Brass, which will begin the concert an hour earlier, at 17 hours .
Also have another hour late, at 19 hours.
The awards ceremony and closing concert will be held on May 8 at the Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, a place where they will announce the verdict of the jury in each of the modalities.

The modalities of CANTO, percussion and guitar, will be held the two phases in a single day.
