The Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, on the occasion of the celebration activities planned for Women's Day, out in the first floor of the cultural center Ramón Alonso Luzzy the pictorial exhibition Meninas, Concha Hernandez Belando.
In this exhibition, Diego Velazquez is the starting point and inspiration but the painter gives the original and feminine these Meninas as elegant and lovely, imbuing their volunptuosos exquisite costumes and sheer contrast in turn with the delicacy and fineness its Giocondo faces.
The artist combines the colorful works in oil with collage, a mixture of pieces of paper from various sources: from the decorative paper to pieces and figures drawn from any texture: serpentine, cardboard ...
In each of his ladies integrates an array of colors and images to recreate in different allusions to the art of Modigliani and Picasso, and especially Velázquez.
