The success of the leisure area for the past year, has made its promoter, the Municipal Social Services Department of Social Care, repeat the initiative this year but expanding the number of activities to develop and neighborhoods in which put into practice.
The area's councilman, Antonio Calderon, described the new program for 2009, noting that this year, in line with current social reality, they delve into intercultural education, prevailing motivation of children and the spread of values, over the activities themselves.
Leisure spaces are places where, through workshops, is offered to children and adolescents that promote positive alternatives and provide staff development opportunities which encourage attitudes relationship of cooperation, solidarity and responsibility.
Are aimed at children aged between 9 and 15.
Are organized into two age groups homogeneous, with a maximum of 15 participants in each group: group I (9-11 years) and group II (12-15 years).
This new project of the Department of Social Services, which is organized from the Centers I and II of the IMSS will be launched in the Santa Lucía, José M ª Lapuerta, New Cartagena, Pozo Estrecho and Slum Virgen de la Caridad.
The workshops developed specialties such as recycling, Modeling, Crafts, Dance, and Capoeira.
