The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Highways Agency has installed speed bumps in the journey of The RM-F34 Urrutia, who is from Los Alcazares Los Nietos, to increase pedestrian safety passing through this route which has over one million vehicles per year.
Thus, giving effect to the request of the Association of Residents of Punta Brava, who contacted the department for a solution to speeding drivers committing, especially during the summer months.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, reported that "the action that ended last January, is operating successfully and has been to install a speed reducer type 'hump' at the crossing of Punta Brava, in Cartagena, and two 'pads' of paving in the urbanization of the Pearl to facilitate drainage of this road, which has on both sides of the roadway with bike lanes.
According Guijarro, this action "will improve the road safety of drivers and pedestrians and cyclists who may be moved by the passage under conditions of greater security", since the installation of these units are a means of "effective and efficient" to slow traffic and increase the attention of drivers in certain areas, especially in urban areas.
